Are customized products possible?

We can also take on individual production orders for quantities of 25 or more. We are also always happy to receive suggestions and new ideas. You are welcome to contact us personally.

What materials are used?

We mainly manufacture from bronze, stainless steel, brass and aluminum. You can find information on the respective product in the product description. We recommend the products made of aluminum and bronze for the quite common nickel allergy, as they contain either no nickel or only traces of nickel. You can also find more information under the following link: https://www.blackforest-pen.de/herstellung/#Materialien

What does the naming of the products mean?

The name gives an indication of the product properties.
With the BasicLine, for example, we have reduced the number of parts we manufacture to a minimum and thus developed a minimalist ballpoint pen.

How do I change the refill?

The BasicLine is supplied with a key. You can use this to loosen or tighten the screw on the side. You must unscrew the screw to change the refill.
A slotted screwdriver can be used as an alternative to the wrench supplied.

On all other models, the refills can be easily replaced by unscrewing the upper part - the part with the mechanism.

How can I return a product?

Please contact us by e-mail and we will send you the relevant information.

My Black Forest pen is discolored. What should I do?

Basically, metal changes its properties through chemical processes in the air and with hand perspiration. This is how a Black Forest pen "lives". We have explained the different properties of the materials in the Manufacture summarized.

If you would like to make use of our reconditioning service please contact us.

Can I also have a product reconditioned?

We offer a professional reconditioning service. Please contact us by e-mail with the relevant information about your product. You can also include a photo of the condition of the product.

You are welcome to contact us if you are interested in cooperations or partnerships. We also look forward to hearing from you if you would like to distribute Black Forest Pen.

What is the weight of the writing instruments?

Writing instruments made of bronze, stainless steel and brass are relatively heavy and therefore feel very valuable.

The lightweights among our writing instruments are made of aluminum, PEEK or titanium. The exact weight specifications can be found in the store under the relevant product.

Antibacterial?

Copper and high-percentage copper alloys have long been regarded as one of the best antibacterial metals. Copper and its alloys are often used for contact surfaces in the healthcare sector, e.g. door handles, taps, handrails and much more.

Our bronze alloy consists of 92% copper and is therefore very suitable for writing instruments that are usually held in the hand for long periods of time. Germs die off more quickly on bronze surfaces and are reduced. The copper ions, which are harmful to germs, are constantly released from the material, thus removing the breeding ground for germs. Even if a patina forms over time, the antibacterial effect only diminishes slightly.
